What about clergy?
Neighborhood Church clergy will fill all the officiant needs of a Protestant ceremony.
What about weddings of other faiths?
Your rabbi or your priest may be invited to participate at the discretion of our clergy.
Is there a bride's room?
Yes, there is a beautiful and spacious bride's room available to you.
May I have flowers in the ceremony?
Yes, flower arrangements are allowed in the narthex and in the sanctuary, however nothing may be attached to the pews and nor may runners be used in the aisles.
How many attendants may I have?
You may have as many attendants as you want; space is not limited.
May I have my wedding outside on your beautiful grounds?
For a variety of reasons, no. However our sanctuary is equally beautiful and has spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean from Palos Verdes to Mailbu. You are invited to use the lovely grounds for your photographs and to greet your guests after the ceremony.
What about photography?
The wedding ceremony is a sacred time. Clicking shutters and the movement of photographers distracts from the ceremony and for that reason, we have firm guidelines about photography. Photography is allowed before and after the ceremony and you may take a video of your ceremony using a stationary camera. Still photography is allowed during the ceremony from one designated spot. We've been doing this for years and can share "the best spot" with your photographer. Additionally, the minister will be available after the ceremony for re-posing of pictures and your photographer is free to roam at that time.
What are Marriage Preparation Meetings - AKA Pre-marital Counseling?
Neighborhood Church is dedicated to helping couples develop the skills and understanding necessary for a nurturing and satisfying marriage. One six-hour counseling meeting is required for all brides and grooms. Three hour workshops are held on Saturday mornings. It may sound daunting, but this session is a wonderful component of your wedding. You will truly benefit from the time you invest.
What about refunds?
If your plans change and we are notified of your cancellation between four and two months prior to your wedding date we will gladly refund your fees minus the $500 deposit, if cancelled with less than two months notice, we will refund 50% of your fees. No refunds with seven days or less notice.
When are the final monies due?
Final payment is due four (4) months prior to your ceremony date.
